Acupuncture first post

This is the first post about acupuncture in our website.

The basic definition of acupuncture as Wikipedia says is:

The stimulation of specific acupoints along the skin of the body involving various methods such as the application of heat, pressure, or laser or penetration of thin needles.

There are other definitions we can find on the Internet like for example the one the U.S. Department of Health & Human Services give us, that is:

Acupuncture is among the oldest healing practices in the world. In the United States, where practitioners incorporate healing traditions from China, Japan, Korea, and other countries, acupuncture is considered part of complementary and alternative medicine (CAM).

The mayo clinic also give us a different and at the same time similar definition:

Acupuncture involves the insertion of extremely thin needles through your skin at strategic points on your body. A key component of Traditional Chinese medicine, acupuncture is most commonly used to treat pain.

And last but not least we have the definition that medicinet gives us:

Acupuncture has been shown to be effective for the treatment of nausea and vomiting in adults following surgery or taking chemotherapy and post-operative dental pain.
